Ganesh, Ganesha is the son of Lord Shva & Goddess Parvati.
Whilst there are many variations of what Ganesha symbolizes, they all very similar. The story of how he was born is lesser known and worth a quick 'google' search.
He is known as the remover of obstacles (elephants don't go around what is in their way, they go through)
His big belly represents generosity and acceptance.
His large elephant head symbolizes wisdom and understanding.
His upraised hand depicts protection (I am with you, do not fear), his lowered hand facing outwards means endless giving
He carries in his hands the "Ankusa" (signifying awakening) and the "Passa" (signifying control). With awakening, alot of energy is releasaed, which without proper control, can go haywire.
The mouse at his feet, nibbles away at ropes that bind, the mouse is like the mantra which can cut through ignorance, leading to ultimate knowledge represented by Ganesha.
Made from fibre-resin, this statue can be kept outdoors however it may fade over time
